Connecting a Discord channelOOC
Post what happens in your organisation to a Discord channel.
Skaafin posts what happens in your organisation (trade, prices, stock, customers, the item list, announcements, staff and the audit log) to Discord. If Discord is down, the app keeps working and messages wait and retry. There are two ways.
With the Skaafin bot (recommended)
- On Discord channels, use Add the bot to a Discord server (you need Manage Server there), or ask the server’s staff to.
- In the channel, type
/linkand choose the purpose (or Everything). You need Manage Channels on that channel in Discord and Connect Discord channels in Skaafin. - Optional:
ping:a role for things someone must act on, anddigest:for a daily or weekly digest.
/channels shows what a channel receives; /unlink stops it.
Holds and the server can use mode: to offer a channel to every business below them (each business chooses “Use this channel” on its own Discord channels page) or to require it. A required channel replaces the business’s own channels and webhooks for those purposes. When both a Hold and the server require one, the server’s wins. This needs Route Discord channels for orgs below.
With a webhook
- In Discord, open the channel’s settings → Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook → Copy Webhook URL.
- In Skaafin, open Discord channels, paste the URL, give the channel a name and choose what to send.
- Send a test message to check it works.
The webhook URL is stored encrypted and shown masked. Anyone who has it can post to that channel, so don’t share it.
