Sending an announcementOOC

An announcement reaches everyone in your organisation and in every organisation below it, unless you narrow it down. In the world nothing is sent by letter: the notice is put up on each organisation’s board, and people read and sign it there. Choose how:

• In character: a notice on your organisation’s private board (you pick which; the oldest by default), with a copy on a private board of each organisation it reaches below. Everyone is told in their inbox, which takes them to the notice.
• Out of character: a message to inboxes, marked OOC. Nobody holds it in the world. The server’s own announcements are always out of character.

Options

• Who: everyone below you, or only chosen organisations. Out of character, you can also pick certain ranks.
• Ask for signatures (in character): the ranks you choose (or everyone) are asked to sign it in their own name, and you can see who has. The notice says on its face whose signatures it asks for, and those asked are told “…asks you to sign it” in their inbox and on their Home. Out of character this is “read and understood”.
• Press our seal (in character): if you keep your organisation’s seal.
• Keep at the top: of the boards, or of inboxes.
• Expires: a notice is torn down and lost when it expires (unless server staff send expired notices back); a message stops showing.

Retracting takes every copy of the notice down, back to your organisation’s papers.
