Writing a letterOOC

Letters are in character. You write as your current character, or on behalf of an organisation if your rank allows it.

Steps

1. Open Letters and choose Write a letter.
2. Choose who it’s to. You can only address people and organisations your character knows.
3. Write it and send it. Replies arrive in the same thread.

A letter is a paper

Each recipient holds the letter as their own document: they can file it, burn it, hand it on or pin it up. The thread shows each letter from the paper you still hold, and a short note for one you no longer have. You can always reply.

• Keep a copy: you keep a copy stamped as such. It is ticked for letters you write for an organisation and unticked for your own.
• The post takes time if server staff have set a delay: the letter says when it should arrive, and the recipient is told when it does. For something urgent, go in person, or give the letter to a courier.
