Importing your spreadsheetOOC
Bring in the items and prices you keep in Excel, a CSV file or Google Sheets. You check every row first.
If your shop already keeps its prices in a spreadsheet, you don’t have to type them in again. Nothing changes in your catalogue until you press Import at the end.
Steps
- Open Catalogue and choose Import a spreadsheet (new stores also find it under Store setup).
- Upload an .xlsx or .csv file, or paste a Google Sheets link.
- Which column is which? We guess the header row and the columns: item name, sell price, buy price, category, notes, quantity and condition. Check the preview and fix any guess that’s wrong. If the workbook has several tabs, pick the one with your prices.
- Match your items. Each row is matched to an item you already carry, or to one on your Hold’s list. Rows that are only nearly the same name are close matches: check them and change any that are wrong. A row with no match becomes a custom item, or you can skip it.
- Import. Everything is written in one go, or nothing is.
Good to know
- Item prices may use up to two decimal places. “1,200”, “45g”, “12.5” and “0.25” all work. A blank price cell keeps the current price; quantities and balances remain whole numbers.
- Rows with a name but no prices are skipped as headings unless you choose otherwise.
- Formulas are never run: we read the value your spreadsheet last saved.
- The quantity column becomes stock counts in a container you pick on the last step (if your rank lets you adjust stock). Each count sets what is in that container, so importing again never doubles your stock. A blank count leaves the item alone.
- A condition column (weapons, armour, clothing): a row naming a condition sets that condition’s exact price and stock count, so one item may take a row per condition. “Any” prices the item flat; “Not recorded” counts stock only.
- All the price changes form one batch, so the price adjuster can undo them.
- Leave at any point: the import waits for you (for a week) under Carry on where you left off.
- Update prices from your sheet later: the same columns are used again. A Google Sheet is fetched again with one tap.
- Limits: 5 MB, 2,000 rows and 40 columns at a time.
Customers
Your customers can come from a spreadsheet too: Known persons → Import, or Import my customers in the store setup. One person per row, with columns for the name, other names (split several with ;), how to recognise them, a reference, notes and a credit limit. A row that matches someone already in your register (by reference, then by name) updates them; you can choose Add as someone new or Skip for any row. Nobody is ever removed.
Old balances are not imported: add them by hand on each person’s page, so every Septim is confirmed by someone (credit).
