NoticeOOC

A paper pinned to a board. It's the same paper as in your files: pinning the original moves it, a copy leaves the original where it was.

A notice is a document pinned to a board. Papers are physical: a notice is in one place at a time.

  • Pinning: write a new notice on the board, or pin one of your papers (or your organisation’s). Pin a copy and the original stays in the files; pin the original and it leaves them.
  • Reading: anyone who can reach the board reads it: tap a notice to open it over the board and turn its pages. From there you can copy it down into your own papers.
  • Changing: whoever pinned it can edit it until it’s signed or sealed.
  • Taking it down puts the paper in someone’s hands: the keepers’ files (or their own), back to whoever pinned it, or a guard who tore it off. The poster only sees that it’s no longer on the board.
  • Take it down after: a notice can come down by itself on a day you choose. By default the board’s keepers clear it and it is lost; take it down yourself before then to keep it. (Server staff can choose to send expired notices back to whoever pinned them instead; the pin form says which.)
  • Signing: an organisation can ask its people to sign a notice to show they have read it. You sign in your own character’s name, under the text, where everyone who reads it can see.

Notices can be plain notices, news or events. An event has a real date and time, shown to everyone in their own time zone and as a lore date.
