Handing a paper over in personOOC
Give the original to someone standing with you, by their calling card code or a one-time code they type in. The printed number on a paper never claims it.
When you meet someone in game you can put a paper in their hands. It is the original: it leaves your documents (or the organisation’s, which needs the right to give its papers away).
- By their calling card: they give you their card’s code. The paper goes to them and lands on their new pile as “Handed to you”. They are told, but not by whom: they saw who it was.
- By a one-time code: tap Get a hand-over code and tell them the code. It works once, for about 10 minutes. They type it under Take a paper on their Documents page and choose where it goes: their own documents, or an organisation whose papers they look after.
The number printed on a paper is not a hand-over code. Anyone who has read the paper knows it, so it never claims one.
A courier can carry a letter this way: take it by code, walk it over, and hand it on. It is faster than the post.
Didn’t want it? Burn it, or report it to staff.
