MovementOOC
One line in the stock record, adding or removing some of an item in one container.
Stock is never simply overwritten. Every change is written down as a movement: “+5 Mead in the Cellar”, “−2 Iron Ingot on the Shop floor”. The amount you have is the sum of every movement.
Records
Each thing you do writes one record with its movements:
- Adjustment: stock added or removed by hand, with a reason (“Found”, “Spoiled”, “Gift”).
- Move: stock carried from one container to another. It is one record with two movements, out of one and into the other.
- Stocktake: the corrections from a count.
- Opening stock: counts from a spreadsheet import.
- Sale and Purchase: the goods of a trade, written when someone confirms they changed hands.
Mistakes
Records are never edited or deleted. To undo one, void it from Stock › History (a trade’s goods are put back from the trade instead): a new record reverses its movements and the original is marked voided, so the trail stays complete.
You can’t take more out of a container than the books say is in it. If the books are wrong, count the container.
