MaterialsOOC
What one batch of an item takes to make, and how many it makes. Shows what the item costs you to make.
An item you make can list its materials: the items one batch takes, and how many single items that batch makes. A Steel Sword might take 2 Steel Ingots and 1 Leather Strips and make 1. A batch of Iron Arrows might take 1 Iron Ingot and 1 Firewood and make 24.
Materials are optional. Leave them off any item you don’t make.
Who sets them
- Item lists: whoever owns the list (server staff for the base list, a Hold’s court for its own items) can give an item its materials, from the items on their list and the lists above. Every store carrying the item sees them.
- Your own: a store can keep its own materials on a catalogue item, used instead of the list’s. Custom items only have your own.
Cost to make
On a catalogue item with materials you see its cost to make: each material at your buy price, or your sell price when you don’t buy it, divided by how many a batch makes. A material you make yourself is priced by its own materials. Add an extra cost for labour or fuel if you like. A material with no price anywhere is named, and the cost leaves it out.
People who can see margins also see the margin on making: your sell price less the cost to make, in each condition.
Make
Stock › Make records a batch: the materials come out of the container you choose and what you made goes in, as one record. It never stops you when the books show too few materials; it says where they went below zero, so you can count them. It never touches the coffer.
Who sees them
Materials are out of character. Staff of the stores and armouries that carry the item see them, and so do the Hold and server staff above them. They are never on public pages, price lists or the bot.
