WritOOC

A paper that lets the people it names read some of one org's books for a few days. The org sees it and each time they did.

A writ lets the people it names read some of one business’s or faction’s books, read only, for a few days: an Imperial audit, or a guard looking into a sale.

  • Who issues one. A ruling faction for any business or faction in the Holds it rules, and traders with no Hold; a Hold’s court for the orgs below it. The rank needs Issue writs. Open the page of the business or faction and choose Issue a writ.
  • What it opens. The books you choose: trades, stock, coffer and credit, customers, manifests. Never letters, papers or members: that takes a warrant.
  • Who may use it. Only the bearers named on it, chosen from your own people and the orgs below you (the Legion, a guard). Holding the paper doesn’t open anything by itself.
  • How long. 7 days unless you choose otherwise, and never longer than the server allows (30 days unless server staff change it). The issuer may revoke it sooner.
  • Reading the books. A bearer finds the writ on their Home and under Writs you carry on their profile. Each book opens as a ledger page, read only: nothing there can be changed.
  • The inspected org sees it. Every member sees each writ on it, who may use it, and each time a bearer read which books.
  • It stops where the issuer no longer rules. If the Hold changes hands, or the business leaves the Hold, the writ is no longer in force. The paper stays.

The writ itself is a paper in the issuer’s files, which it can hand over or pin like any other.
