Incident reportOOC

A guard's written record of what happened: what kind of incident, when, where, who was involved and in what part, what was found, and which laws were broken.

An incident report is a paper in a guard’s files. Anyone in the guard who can write documents can write one.

  • Type. One or more of the guard’s own incident types (Theft, Assault…). Officers keep the list on the reports page, each type with the laws it usually breaks; picking a type offers those laws to cite.
  • Happened and Reported. When it happened (the real time and the lore date) and when the report was written, and a post or a place in your own words.
  • People. Entries from the guard’s register of known persons, each with a part: offender, suspect, witness, victim or other. Never real characters: you write down the names you were given. Someone new goes into the register as you add them.
  • Papers. Attach a paper from the guard’s files, or one of your own: hand it in (the original goes into the guard’s files) or copy it in. Take a statement writes down what a witness said as its own paper in the guard’s files; they can sign it in person.
  • Guards involved, organisations (their public page is linked), items with quantities, the laws broken, and related reports (a report can follow another one up).
  • Evidence. If the guard keeps stock, an item from its own list can go straight into an evidence container. Taking the line off the report leaves the stock where it is: void the movement on the stock page if it was a mistake.
  • The account. What happened, in the writing box.
  • Follow up. Tag a report with the guard’s follow-up tag (“follow up” unless the officers change it) and it shows on Home until you take the tag off.

Reports stay with the guard. To tell the court or another guard, send a copy by letter; you can send copies of its papers with it. A copy says what the report says, names and all, but links nothing into the guard’s register or stock. Once a report is signed or sealed it can’t be changed.
