BooksOOC
An organisation's handbooks, guides and knowledge, in pages and sub-pages. Members read them; public books show on its page.
Every organisation can keep books: handbooks, guides, procedures, anything its people should know.
- Pages and sub-pages. A book is a tree of pages, three levels deep, in the order you put them. Each page is written in the same editor as everything else.
- Who reads them. A book is for the organisation’s members, or public: then anyone can read it on the organisation’s page.
- Who writes them. Ranks with Write books. To begin with, every rank that writes documents.
- Links. Write a page’s title in double square brackets,
[[Arrests]], to link to it;[[Arrests|how we arrest]]shows other words. A law’s name links to the law. A link to a page that was renamed or archived, or that the reader can’t read, shows as plain words. - What links here. Each page lists the pages that link to it.
- History. Every save keeps the version before; earlier versions stay readable. Pages and books are archived, never deleted, and can be brought back.
- Search finds pages by title and words.
- Templates. A new page can start from a procedure, a profile or a record.
- Binding. “Bind into a paper” makes a paper copy of a whole book, or of a page and its sub-pages, as it reads now: a new paper in your files, to hand over or pin. The book stays as it is.
- Guards start with a Guard’s handbook they can edit or archive.
- The law book. A book’s page also lists your organisation’s laws.
